The Identity portal is more than an online design manual solution.
Today’s identity programmes are complex systems which are set up to meet all needs and function in all media.
It is therefore important to have documented guidelines which are updated and controlled centrally and which are easily accessible at all times – a web application, in other words.
The advantage of a website (compared with printed manuals or PDF files) is the possibility of downloading the files that belong to, and which are necessary for the use of, the graphic profile.
Based on our experience and knowledge within brand-building and brand maintenance, we have developed the Identity portal tool, a sort of ‘Swiss army knife’: design manual, file database and brand protector, where content, functionality and user interfaces are customised according to the customer’s needs.

It is important that both the guidance concerning the profile and the files that are needed are easily accessible in the same place, in order to make the work to maintain a holistic identity easier. Files can for example be logo adaptations, layout guidelines such as grids, colour codes, graphic elements, profile fonts, profile images and templates.
The identity portal is developed in line with the profile itself, and processes are simplified, e.g. during the development of the profile when files and templates have to be approved and corrected.
You define users using different access rights, giving complete control over who receives what information, e.g. a separate account for press contacts with limited access to logo files and press photographs.
Via the ID portal, we have brought together all graphic material in one place, and ensured that it is available to everyone at all times. This makes it easier for all employees to find the graphic material that they need, and the company’s graphic profile is safeguarded in a neat and clear manner,” says Åshild Vestbø, Web Coordinator at NORECO, Norwegian Energy Company ASA.
